Mostafa Sedky is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on simulation-driven design of advanced sensors and haptic actuators, combining scientific computing with novel engineering architectures to enhance tactile feedback performance. He has worked on microfluidic device prototyping as a Research Assistant at the American University in Cairo, vacuum chamber design for atomic layer deposition as an intern at Oxford Instruments, and thin-film optical manufacturing as a Research Scientist Intern at Meta Reality Labs. Mostafa is a recipient of the UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Fellowship and first-place winner of the ASME Student Mechanism and Robot Design Competition. He earned his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2025 and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Physics from the American University in Cairo in 2021.
