ABSTRACT

The foundation for successful MEMS component design is a deep understanding of the interactions between various physical phenomena at the microscale, including electrostatic, mechanical, piezoelectric, and electrothermal effects, and fluid–structure interaction. To get an accurate representation of these interactions in a model, engineers need multiphysics simulation software.

During the presentation, we will introduce you to the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, which is uniquely equipped for detailed modeling of MEMS devices. The presentation includes a live model demonstration and a Q&A session.

BIO

Akhil Vijay is a Senior Applications Engineer at COMSOL focusing on structural mechanics and MEMS modeling. Akhil obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 2022. Prior to joining COMSOL, he worked on modeling fatigue failure in rolling contacts, with focus on polycrystalline anisotropy, lubrication, and damage mechanics.
