June 7, 2024

Please join BSAC in congratulating  Xintian Liu for bringing home the 2024 Janusz Bryzek Abundance Through MEMS Award for her submission Enhancing Full Cell Vehicle Safety: Temperature-Insensitive Resonant Strain Sensor.

Award committee Dr. Brian Bircumshaw presents winner Xintian Liu

The Janusz Bryzek Abundance through MEMS Award recognizes graduate or undergraduate students whose work best exemplifies the application of MEMS to Abundance, advancing a future in which all of humanity has access to clean water, food, energy, health care, housing, education and all that is needed to live an abundant fulfilling life through rapid developments in exponential technologies, including MEMS.

Dr. Janusz Bryzek was a world-renowned pioneer in the field of micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), founding and commercializing his MEMS passion vis-à-vis 11 companies over his 40 plus year career ... from pressure sensors to multiplexers, IMUs to ultrasonic imagers. An optimistic technology enthusiast, he envisioned the abundance of ubiquitous low-cost MEMS devices as a means of improving the quality of lives globally. As such, he operated at the convergence of MEMS, Entrepreneurism, and Abundance.

The award, which comes with a $1,000 scholarship, was awarded in June at the 2024 Hilton Head Workshop.
