ABSTRACT
In this talk Dr. Eng will introduce Silicon Light Machines SiN based Grating Light Valve technology and applications. Then he will discuss the evolution to 1) using SiGe MEMS for integration with CMOS and 2) new 2D MEMS devices for high power laser processing applications.

Dr. Lars Eng is the CEO of Silicon Light Machines. Dr. Eng has more than 25 years of experience designing and delivering optical and electronic components and subsystems to the telecommunications, industrial, and consumer markets. Prior to joining Silicon Light Machines, Dr. Eng held Engineering Director positions at Finisar, AT&T Bell Laboratories, and Lucent Technologies. He holds a PhD in applied physics from California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, and an MS in electrical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
