BSAC Seminar: MEMS Incubation at Shanghai Industrial Technology Research Institute

November 4, 2014

Peter Himes

General Manager & Vice President, SITRI Silicon Valley, Shanghai Industrial µTechnology Research Institute
November 4, 2014 | 12:30 to 01:30 | 540 Cory Hall
Host: John Huggins

The Shanghai Industrial microTechnology Research Institute (SITRI) was formed by the Shanghai government in cooperation with SIMIT of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (and the State Key Lab for Transducers) to create a new model for the development and commercialization of new technologies and products in MEMS, materials and other “More than Moore” related technologies supporting the IoT and Wearable Device markets. Combining the research-to-commercialization model of ITRI and the microfabrication process development model of SVTC, with advanced engineering design, analysis and market intelligence services, SITRI fills the critical gaps needed to enable the MEMS ecosystem to flourish in Shanghai. This talk will introduce the SITRI model and discuss through examples how it is bringing new capabilities to the MEMS commercialization landscape.
