On November 9th, BSAC hosted a gathering of the center's women alumni and researchers. The primary goal was to create a platform for women in academia and research to share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs, fostering a sense of community and empowerment.
One highlight of the gathering was the presence of Leslie A. Fields Ph.D., the pioneering woman who earned the distinction of becoming the center's first female Ph.D. graduate studying under BSAC's co-founding directors, Professor Richard S. Muller and Professor Richard M. White. Her journey and achievements inspired attendees, offering a unique perspective on breaking barriers in academia.
Additionally, the event recognized Professor Roya Maboudian, the center's first female co-director whose leadership and vision highlight the importance of diverse leadership in research and academia.
The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and mutual support, with both seasoned professionals and emerging researchers benefiting from the collective wisdom of the group.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the attendees, especially our distinguished guests of honor, for making this gathering a memorable and impactful occasion.
