Fast optical switches have been proposed as a promising alternative to enable continual scaling of data centers with increasing size and data rates We have previously demonstrated the largest integrated optical switch reported to date, a 240x240 switch with sub-microsecond switching time. This talk will focus on packaging and system-level demonstrations of such optical switches.
